Forest and land cover change analysis using satellite data

Approach and timeline for PoC:

• Acquire satellite data (~2025.8.15)

  • Import Sentinel-2, NAIP, or LandSat 8 data via Google Earth Engine, or USGS EarthExplorer, then export it to a local machine.

• Segment areas of interest in the images (~2025.10.31)

  • Import NDVI data and process it using rasterio or numpy.

• Display results on a map

  • Visualize the processed data using QGIS.

• Write a report (~2025.12.31)
